Take a creative approach to post-processing and learn to use digital tools to better express your vision and intent. Learn to become a digital craftsperson and modify your images according to your desired content, sensibilities, and/or the needs of a client. Class covers Raw editing in Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw and pixel editing in Photoshop.
Explore and learn to master the powerful image editing tools in Photoshop and Lightroom for sensitive and expressive post-processing, including:
Raw editing tools and new masking tools in Lightroom/Adobe Camera Raw
Photoshop Adjustment layers and layer masks
Sharpening and noise reduction
Creative use of clarity, dehaze, texture, and sharpening tools
Effective image upsizing or downsizing
Retouching and image clean-up or restoration
Optimal methods for output to print or web
Prerequisites: Ability to open a current (Creative Suite) version of Photoshop and/or Lightroom and to manage files.
Class is taught on Zoom using your own files, using both Raw and pixel editing files (PSD, JPG, or TIF). Please be sure to have a selection of files both Raw and jpg, psd, or tif) readily available for class sessions.
David Ulrich is a professor and co-director of Pacific New Media. He is an active photographer and writer whose work has been published in numerous books and journals. Ulrich`s photographs have been exhibited internationally in over 75 exhibitions. He is the author of The Widening Stream: the Seven Stages of Creativity and Zen Camera: Creative Awakening with a Daily Practice in Photography.
