InDesign is the primary application for designers, publishers, photographers, and writers—almost anyone who is involved in graphics and design. In this fast-paced course, Sandee Cohen will take you from blank page to finished layout while also following the best industry practices to make sure your documents export and print correctly. Even without any previous InDesign experience, you’ll understand how to create finished single-page and multi-page layouts. The course will cover:
• Understanding the guides and boundaries of new documents
• Finding and using pre-made templates
• Formatting text
• Understanding and creating master and document pages
• Automating text changes using paragraph and text styles
• Placing text and spreadsheets from Microsoft Office
• Creating and formatting tables
• Adding images to pages
• Defining and applying colors and gradients to documents
• Setting text wrap around images
• Creating and working with layers
• Running spelling and grammar checks
• Setting hyphenation options
• Exporting to PDF and other electronic formats
• Setting the options for professional and office printing
• Syncing with Creative Cloud libraries
Sandee Cohen has been teaching print and web graphics for over 20 years at design schools such as New School University as well as many conferences around the world. She has also consulted for many publishing houses and design firms. She is the author of all versions of the InDesign Visual Quickstart Guide and books on Acrobat, Illustrator, and desktop publishing.
