Journey through the Inner World
Both in my profession as a psychotherapist and in my passion as a photographer, I am interested in the inner world of people. I am interested in their thoughts, feelings, desires, hopes and fears. But while as a psychotherapist I help specific clients analyze their experiences and put them into words in order to make them more tangible and formable, as a photographer I try to visualize the journey itself and the different states of inner being.
Journey through the Inner World shows a section of a larger project about the journey of discovery to oneself. The images shown are comparable to a nocturnal dream, whose stories are not to be taken literally, but speak to us through images and metaphors. As the journey itself they require openness and curiosity, because they seem enigmatic, complex and sometimes quite irritating.
I am convinced that it is worth recovering the treasure of the inner world in order to be enriched by it, even if only in the form of a dreamlike unconscious journey in images.
