Taught by master photographer Michael Gilbert, the class takes a in-depth look at the gesture behind great images and the use of color, composition, and how to employ at least four distinctly different natural lighting situations. Learn how to observe and identify great and meaningful photographs.
Michael also discusses the power of black and white and when to use it. Take your photography to the next level. Discover what the art of learning to see is all about. The goal is to make you a better image-maker. You’ll enjoy practical classroom instruction taught by Michael followed by a photographic exploration of grounds. With limited class size, you’ll enjoy personalized tips throughout your excursion.
At the conclusion of the class, your images will be downloaded and you’ll observe the process of producing photographic prints, canvases, or metallic papers first-hand . Plus, you’ll take home a finished 16-inch canvas or Metallic papers of your best shot from the day.

Michael Gilbert is a highly successful photographer who loves illustrative portraiture and divides his time between his studio in Hawaii and Paris. Michael has had a one man show at the International Museum of Photography has been a headline speaker for Imaging USA, WPPI, Photokina, and Photo Plus. He teaches for Pacific New Media, Passport to the Arts, and engagements world-wide. He loves working with students and doing small seminars in unique and amazing locations.
