Hawaiian Raptors

I started taking photos of planes in 2020. Ever since the first time I saw a Raptor take off, I was hooked on photographing fighter jets. The roar of the Pratt and Whitney afterburning engines, the speed, and the sheer technological feat that is the F-22 instantly piqued my interest. It is a great honor for me to be able to document these jets and the men and women who fly them. They are the modern day warriors keeping our island skies safe, and they do so by constant training, practice and drills. The 199th and 19th fighter squadrons, known locally as the Hawaiian Raptors, are two flying units of the USAF based out of Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu. All of the photographs in this collection are taken locally, here on Oahu, and feature purely Hawaii-based jets.
